The trees are up, the lights are strung, and we’re getting ready to celebrate a great Christmas at The Parish. Here’s what’s coming up this season:
The Advent Project – Begins Sunday, Nov 30: Do you already feel caught in the blur of the Christmas season? Join us as we embark on the Advent Project: a daily journey to help slow down and connect with God in the weeks leading to Christmas. The Parish Blog will host a series of daily posts that will serve as a simple devotional guide that includes prayers, readings, a reflection, and even a daily activity to help challenge our perspective during this season. If you haven’t already, visit the Parish Blog to check out today’s post, and check back with us each day from now until Christmas morning.
Christmas Giving Project: One of our three core values is Mission—making time and space to love the world around us. This December, we are working together as a church to meet the needs of two local organizations. We would love for you and your family to get involved and bring a donation with you to a Parish Gathering in December. See the details below. If you have any questions, just email us at email@example.com
- Socks/Underwear for the Foster Care Support Network (Size 2T-10, Boys & Girls): We’re asking all of our preschool and elementary students to bring these items to church during the holidays.
- Care packages for Homestretch, a non-profit serving homeless families in our area: Packages should include the following: Laundry basket, laundry soap, 2 towels, kitchen towels/rags, twin or full sheet set, magic clean erasers, soap, toothpaste, lotion, $10 gas or grocery card and a welcome mat. As a church, we’d like to collect 10 care packages by December 21st.
Sunday, December 7, 5:00pm – Parish Gathering: This will be our first Parish Gathering in the Advent season. Come join us for a night of worship, prayer, communion, and community. Bring the whole family; Parish Kids is a fantastic place for your children to grow and have fun. Look forward to seeing you there! Click here for more info and directions.
Sunday, December 14, 5:00pm – Table Groups: Table Groups are a great chance to meet people who live in your neighborhood, and a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to experience the community of The Parish. Click here to learn more about Table Groups, or sign up here.
Sunday, December 21, 5:00pm – Parish Christmas Gathering: This night will definitely be one you don’t want to miss. It’s a chance to celebrate and reflect together as we close out the Advent season. It’s also our one-year anniversary as a church! Be sure to join us, and bring your friends, neighbors, and family along for a great night together. Click here for more info and directions.
Sunday, December 28 – No Parish meetings. Enjoy a great Christmas and some restful time with family and friends. We’ll see you in the new year on January 4th.
That’s what’s happening this month. We hope you can join with us as we finish out what has been an unforgettable year. If you have any questions, please contact us.
